ARBOR DAY CELEBRATION AND WORKSHOP

THURSDAY, APRIL 2

Starting at 9am

1861 Runnymede Road, Home of Ellen Davis

UPDATE: March 20 – The Arbor Day Co-Chairmen are planning for the project to go forward on April 2nd with some modifications. (After all, we will be working in the open air, with gloves on; and we give away things which are good for the environment.) The changes are as follows:

  • Instead of the usual 500 trees, we will only prepare 100 Kousa Dagwoods for planting. We will still need volunteers, but the work should go quickly.
  • Instead of distributing the trees to schools, we will invite garden club members to come by and pick up a tree (or several) with planting instructions to give to children in their neighborhoods who might like an outdoor activity. The pick-up time will be the same as the bagging—9:00 am on April 2nd until the trees run out. The address is 1861 Runnymede Road, corner of Runnymede and Halcyon Ave.
  • If anyone would like to reserve trees, please send an email before March 30th to: [email protected]. Ten trees are currently spoken for, so we have 90 to give out to our club members.

Volunteers will want to dress very casually, bring gloves, and prepare to get their hands dirty while preparing the seedlings.

Happy Arbor Day!
