ARBOR DAY CELEBRATION AND WORKSHOP
THURSDAY, APRIL 18
Starting at 10 am
Come get your hands dirty!!
at the Home of Daniela Grady, 967 Arbor Road
We’re celebrating Arbor Day by bagging Kousa Dogwood saplings and delivering them to local elementary schools in our community. This will make a beautiful impact on our community while educating 5th graders about gardening and the importance of trees.
We’ll start bagging at 10 am, be sure to wear work gloves and clothes you can get dirty in. We will need some volunteers to deliver saplings to schools at the end. Sign-up at the volunteer link below.
Thanks for your help and Happy Arbor Day!

“While most holidays celebrate something that has already happened and is worth remembering, Arbor Day represents a hope for the future. The simple act of planting a tree represents a belief that the tree will grow to provide us with clean air and water, cooling shade, habitat for wildlife, healthier communities, and endless natural beauty – all for a better tomorrow.” – from ArborDay.org
We celebrated Arbor Day on April 27 by bagging 200 Kousa Dogwood saplings and delivering them to 5th-graders a four elementary schools in Winston-Salem.
Our hope for the future is two-fold: that these students will learn about the joys of planting and growing a tree; and that these trees will bring joy to those around where they are planted.
