Garden Club Council

Founded in 1932, the Garden Club Council of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County helps protect, preserve, and beautify our environment.

We wrapped up another Garden Club Council year of “Growing Together” with a Garden Games trivia competition, two award presentations, and a recap of our busy spring projects.Congratulations to Club of Twenty Gardens, winner of the Nancy D Sherk Award.Congratulations to Mary Audrey Apple, winner of the Wava Howard Award. Congratulations to the winning clubs of our trivia competition who won money for their club projects: • Little Greens Garden Club won first prize and $1,500• Westwood Garden Club won second prize and $1,000• Flower Lore Garden Club and West End Garden Club tied for third place and received $250 eachAND… it was reported that our Garden Tour and Plant Sale proceeds were over $97,000 combined!! These funds will go back into our local area for Community Grants that will protect, preserve, and beautify our environment. What a successful Spring and super fun way to end our fiscal year! What a wonderful weekend it was for the garden tour! We can’t stop smiling as we think back on these beautiful gardens and how much enjoyment the day brought to so many. We are so grateful for our garden owners, sponsors, volunteers and over 700 tour-goers!
